Goals of the OBML

The series “Ontologies in Biomedicine and Life Sciences” (OBML workshop) was initiated by the workgroup for OBML of the German Society for Computer Science in 2009. The OBML aims to bring together scientists who are working in this area to exchange ideas and discuss new results, to start collaborations and to initiate new projects. The OBML workshop is held once annually and deals with all fundamental aspects of biomedical ontologies as well as additional “hot” topics.

Submissions are requested especially for the following topics:

Submission of Papers

Submissions to the workshop should comprise 2–4 pages and must be written in English. The preferred file format for submissions is PDF, other admitted formats are Microsoft Word (DOC and DOCX) and Postscript (PS). Please use the corresponding template for submissions, either the LaTeX template or the Microsoft Word template. (NB: These are the same templates as used for OBML 2010.)

Please submit via the Easy Chair conference system at .

Accepted papers will be printed in a proceedings volume (with ISSN) that will be distributed during the congress. A selection of these papers will be published in the Journal of Biomedical Semantics, cf. the supplement issue of OBML 2010: JBMS Vol. 2, Suppl. 4, 2011.
